Sunday 22nd May – walk ***** – Orwell County Park near Ipswich – sunny and warm:).

Another lovely day here on the coast, sunny and warm with fairly light breezes, usual morning at home, me exercises in the garden while Mag sorts her beloved compost and plants yet more seedlings out. It was a little warm to go out on the bikes so I made a couple of salads and set off in the van around 12.30 heading to Ipswich with a quick detour to Sports Direct to buy some shorts it was then a short distance to Orwell County Park which looked busy but we managed to park OK with Mag spotting a Muntjac straight away:) We walk through bluebell woods with all the flowers now gone to be replaced ferns. It is so peaceful on this path as most people don’t come this way and it leads down to the River Orwell as a coaster heads into Ipswich. It was fairly busy on the beach with people enjoying the lovely weather. We stop opposite Stoke Sailing Club again for our picnic and was the yachts on the river where there is a good breeze blowing, certainly enough to foil! It is a top spot to watch the world go by:) We then continue taking the route by the secluded small holding, under the Orwell bridge taking the noisy path that run close to the A 14 and back to the van. A nice couple of hours in the sunshine walking about two miles which is as far as we want to go these days! Then home the back way through Levington before checking the sea conditions at The Dip where the wind was much lighter than in the river. Home for cuppa and cake, maybe some wind coming in the week but still heard nothing about my new foil so could be some more fin sailing although tomorrow is looking wet!
